When you wear pain this good..it never wears out.. Kelly Rowland peels back and confess hardship, an abusive relationship, friendship, the industry and more in her new single “Dirty Laundry”. “When my sister was onstage killing it like a motherf***er I was enraged feeling it like a motherf***er,” she sings. “Went our separate ways but I was happy that she was killing it..Bittersweet, she was up and I was down..No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?” Produced by The-Dream, Rowland holds nothing back in “Dirty Laundry”. “I was battered..Hitting the window like it was me..And still it shattered..He pulled me out and said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me..Not your mama,Not your daddy, and especially not Bey.’ ” “Dirty Laundry” is a track from her up coming album “Talk a Good Game” which hit stores June 18th. Love isn’t the only thing to sing about, and Jarell Perry proves this on his debut solo full-length, Simple Things, produced by Hassan. The LA-based singer/songwriter, has collaborated with everyone from Fat Joe and Usher to Diplo and Rusko, certainly knows how to belt out the stomach-punch emotional resonance of love gone wrong, but he also spins yarn around a modern existence that includes mundane day jobs and the highs (and lows) of a good glass of whiskey.
Listen to Jarell Perry “Simple Things” below:
After the success of singles “Happy 4 U,” featuring Thurz, and the soaring emotional storm “Getaway” (which Perry performed live on Mark Cuban and Ryan Seacrest’s AXS Live! here), Simple Things is hotly anticipated. Born in Whiteville , Tennessee William Rashaan Jones is not an unfamiliar name in Hardeman County. William Jones, also known as DJ Ski-Weezy, was attracted to music as a young man. He has been listening to DJs like DJ Screw (RIP Founder of Screw & Chopp), DJ Radio Rasheed, Howard Q, DJ Kid Capri, DJ Jazzy Jeff and DJ Pat, who is his mentor in his DJ career. They drove him to want to spin records and become a part of the music industry. He graduated from Bolivar Central High School in 2006 and entered Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee to major in Mass Communications, but later transferred across town to Jackson State Community College.
I guess that you can say that 2006 was a busy year for DJ Ski Weezy because he also dropped his first compilation album entitled “Hard lands of Hardman County.” In which it sold over 200 copies, at a price of $5 per copy, locally with no limited publicity. He tells upcoming artists, “I am grinding in the industry everyday just like ya’ll are, keep your head up and get your music out in the streets. You can achieve anything, if you grind and got heart for the money and the game you’ll make it.
That’s what my mentor tells me all the time.” Recent in his years as a disc jockey, he had the pleasure to work with major artists such as Pleasure P of Pretty Ricky, Kinfolk Kia Shine, Yung Joc, Verse Simmonds, and even got to open up for DJ Drama in 2011 and with DJ Scream in 2012, just to name a few. You can find DJ Ski Weezy in a club near you or in the 731 area of TN. Now he focuses on pushing his mixtape series “Watch Me Werk Mixtapes” and “Trap Ensemble.” If you are interested in contacting DJ Ski-Weezy you can reach him at:
